” Then he that had received the five talents went and traded with the same, and made them other five talents. And likewise he that had received two, he also gained other two. But he that had received one went and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.”
Mat 25:16-18
The LORD JESUS said, ” He that is faithful with little is faithful with much” , if you are not productive with little you will waste more resources if they are delivered into your hands. No matter how small your gifts, talents, skills, or resources are; God expects you to be productive by them. God does not delight in poverty, weakness, and a life of no increase, the first blessing he declared upon Adam was ” Be fruitful…” God wants you to be productive. Working hard and being productive are not synonymous. I have a series I preached on titled ABILITY UNDER INTELLIGENT CONTROL, which will be of great benefit to you.
There are people with less ability than you who are making it by using intelligently their gifting, you may sing better than all singers in the world but if you only sing in the bathroom then you have a gift that you have hidden in the ground. If you are good at something, develop yourself and become productive with it. Don’t just draw pictures to stick on your wall, become productive and market your drawings. If you are a comedian don’t just make your friends laugh for free, be little more organised and very soon you will perform at big meetings and take home some good money. There is a gift in you through which God seeks to bless you. If you will look deep within you, you will see that there is something you can do and don’t take it lightly. Maybe you are a barber, be the best in it and become more and more productive. If you are jobless then make a job for yourself, don’t mind who despises you; keep your head high being focused and practising God’s principles and you will surely be celebrated.
Proverbs 22:29 says ” Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.” You may be a school teacher but rise to be President, don’t act as though you are nailed at one place, there is more you can do with your life. There are many influential men and women who came from deep poverty and worse economic state than yours, so don’t give an excuse for failure, be organised and set yourself for the winning life. Don’t eat up all your seed, plant some and you will be sure to have a harvest. Remember God is against foolishness.
