Job Description

 Professional competencies 

These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.

Professional competencies for this position: 

  • At least 3 years’ experience in youth programming and development work, training facilitation, or community engagement.
  • Experience working in urban displacement or refugee contexts
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • A self-starter, organized and highly motivated person
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Interactive Media, or other digital tools and Technologies.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Desirable:

  • Experience supporting or working with young people at a tutor/instructor/mentor level.
  • Familiarity with design thinking, innovation, and creativity.
  • Working knowledge of a local language, Luganda, Kiswahili, Arabic or French

What we offer

  • Duty station: Kampala Country Office
  • Contract: national contract, 6 months (extension possible, dependent on funding)
  • Travel: Frequent travel to the project sites
  • Salary/benefits: grade 5 on NRC’s national salary scale.
