Job Description

Job Summary: The Supply Chain Specialist will provide technical assistance and coordination to strengthen pharmaceutical logistics services leading to; resilient supply chain systems, improvement in logistics and inventory management, and commodity security in the supported
districts and health facilities of the LPHS EC region.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Provide technical assistance to districts to quantify, order and manage health commodities
2. Support and coordinate for quantification, ordering and redistribution of commodities to sustain lifesaving care
3. In collaboration with DHTs, MEL teams, support HMIS 105-6b reporting for all supported
facilities
4. Build capacity for health care workers to manage stock at supported facilities
5. Provide program teams and DHT with regular updates on stock availability across facilities to facilitate redistribution and continuity of care

6. Coordinate implementation of Supervision Performance Assessment and Recognition Strategy (SPARS) and PEER strategy in all supported districts.
7. Provide support supervision and technical assistance in collaboration with the supported districts to ensure continuous improvement and strengthening of the supply chain systems.
8. Participate in progress review meetings, providing strategic guidance to districts and teams on supply chain related issues.
9. Represent the institution adequately in national and sub-national technical committees and
stakeholder engagements on supply chain related issues
10. Support resource mobilization efforts for the institution
11. In collaboration with the Knowledge Management team, support the process of documenting
best practices in form of case studies, success stories, abstracts, video clips in addition to the
routine biweekly updates, quarterly and annual reports
12. Develop, manage and implement work plans and prepare progressive reports appropriately.
Qualifications, job requirements and competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy from a recognized institution.
• Provide certified copies of the academic documents.
• Registered by the Pharmacy board and a member of the pharmaceutical society of Uganda.
• At least 5 years’ work experience in providing support in the management of the national
pharmaceutical supply chain system, handling logistics medicines and logistics information
management systems.
• Demonstrated good analytical and presentation skills with Microsoft office packages,
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with various
stakeholders toward the achievement of common goals.

implementation and operations. Collaborate with teams to create and maintain risk management
plans in line with organizational policies. Regularly review and update practices to address new
challenges or changes in the operational environment.
