A successful candidate will have the following:

The Program Area Manager will provide overall leadership, coordination, and technical oversight for the Karamoja Regional programs serving vulnerable children and households across the nine districts.  The role ensures high-quality, timely, and compliant implementation of FH UNLOCK Program Models and building resilience through the flourishing pathways of Physical and Mental Well Being, Asset Creation, Productive Learning and Integration of WASH and Humanitarian Response, gender inclusion, and capacity strengthening activities in line with donor requirements and national standards.

The Program Area Manager will lead planning, implementation, partner coordination, budget management, safeguarding compliance, monitoring and reporting, while strengthening district systems and community ownership to ensure sustainable service delivery.

 

Qualifications and Experience

University degree in Civil and Building Engineering, Environmental Engineering Bio systems Engineering, Public Health, Development studies, Social Sciences, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management Social works and social Administration, Agriculture, Project Planning & Management, Business Administration or other related disciplines in humanities
A postgraduate diploma in project planning and management from a recognized institution.
A minimum of 5 years and above’ practical field experience, working with communities and children
Experience working with district local governments and community-based systems.
Proven experience managing large donor-funded projects and budgets with donors such as UNICEF, USAID, EU, UN agencies, World Bank etc.
Demonstrated experience in proposal writing, donor engagement, and resource mobilization.
Experience in fragile or hard-to-reach contexts preferred

Ability to work in field conditions.
Ability to instruct and successfully work with young children.
Must have team building skills, personnel management skills and child supervision skills.

Programme Planning, Implementation and Leadership
Coordination and collaboration with Donor, Local Government Agencies, local NGOs and Religious Organizations
Program Administration and Finance/Grant management
Personnel and Team Management
Asset and Supply chain management
Monitoring, Evaluation, Reporting and Learning (MERL) of project activities.
