Opportunity Bank invites applications from qualified candidates to fill the position of:
Position: IT Services Manager
Reports to: Head Information Technology
Job purpose: The IT services Manager is responsible for providing support for the core
Banking Applications- Temenos and related applications including Channels,
Accounting, Human resource, money transfer Systems, databases and other third-party
systems.
The role will interface with the Business in relation to new products setup on the core
banking application. The job holder is responsible for new branch applications setup;
resolution of all application functional issues raised by the business and must ensure
that all users are supported and can effectively use the core banking systems and
applications for the purpose of their working needs.
Key Result Areas:
• Fully Support the business with the application parameters maintenances
adhering to the parameterization change process, Calenderer maintenance EOD/
EOM/ EOY/SOD processing
• Act as first line support for all application issues.
• Document all operational procedures and keep the departmental operating
instructions updated at all times.
• Maintain a Knowledge base of all known application issues.
• Define and document User Acceptance Test (UAT) case scenarios/ plan for
application fixes in liaison with business function and ensure all application
changes are change managed.
• Amend data anomalies resulting from system malfunction and service requests
upon necessary authorization and change management.
• Provide guidance to the business functions in identification of needs and
definition of requirements.
• Provide support in Project management, Business case development, analysis
design staged of system implementations.
• Identify and resolve operational problems
• Trouble shoots and diagnoses problems.
• Implement security standards (access controls, segregation of duties, usage and
exception monitoring)
• Monitors and supports alternative delivery channels performance such as
Internet Banking, ATMs, Kussimu and ensure agreed upon uptime is achieved.
• Managing incident, problem, and change management processes
• Ensuring compliance with IT policies, procedures, and standards
• Leading a team of IT service operations staff
• Collaborating with other IT teams and departments to resolve issues
• Continuously identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions
• Keeping up-to-date with emerging IT trends and technologies to improve service
delivery
Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in an IT related field
• Professional certifications in Oracle, MS-SQL, ITIL, etc.
• A minimum of 3 years at middle Management level
• 3+ years of experience within a technical support environment, including
Database administration, core banking applications and other software
experience.
• Sound Knowledge of API Banking Technologies, systems development and
applications support.
• Experience with database support and development tasks in both a transactional
and DSS environments.
• Experience in Dot Net (C#) and/or Java/Java based Application Development; &
T24
• Knowledge of programming in SQL, PL/SQL, Java c-sharp etc.
• Knowledge of Windows and Unix/Linux operating systems
• Experience programming in a database query language will be an added
advantage
