JOB OVERVIEW:
The Hatchery Hardware Supervisor (Machinery & Storage) supervises hatchery machinery operations, aeration systems, water distribution, and storage facilities. The role ensures continuous equipment availability, safe storage of materials, and strict adherence to health, safety, and biosecurity requirements.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Machinery and Operations Oversight
- Supervise aeration and water supply teams to ensure reliable functionality.
- Oversee preventive maintenance of pumps, blowers, and motors.
- Plan resource allocation for equipment servicing and repairs.
- Storage and Inventory Management
- Supervise inventory handling of tools, chemicals, and spare parts.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate reorders in advance.
- Ensure safe storage, handling, and labelling of chemicals.
- Health, Safety, and Biosecurity
- Enforce safety standards for machinery operators.
- Conduct regular risk assessments of equipment and storage facilities.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and biosecurity policies.
- Reporting and Communication
- Maintain records of maintenance schedules, equipment logs, and stock.
- Submit weekly reports to the Team Lead on equipment status and inventory.
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Aquaculture, or related technical field.
- 2+ years’ experience in machinery handling or aquaculture equipment management.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance procedures and inventory systems.
- Proven ability to supervise and coordinate teams.
- High regard for health, safety, and biosecurity standards.
