Job Description
The Financial Analyst is responsible for producing regular reports using financial data while working collaboratively across the entire finance team to analyse business performance and providing strategic recommendations to management.
Salary Scale: K4 (3)
Report to: Finance Manager
Direct Reports:
(1) Senior Strategy and Planning Officer
(2) Senior Financial Analysist
Key Functions:
(1) Analysing Current and Past Financial Data and Identifying Trends: Accurately analyze key cost drivers and monthly variances, manage the regular reporting process, provide variance analysis, suggest actions to the Company.
(2) Developing Financial Models and Providing Financial Forecasts: Analyze and communicate to management the impact on the Company’s financial structure, profitability, financial integrity, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or forecasting models.
(3) Budgeting and Forecasting: Manage routines with the Company to ensure all money spent (OPEX & CAPEX) is correctly accounted, goods receipted and accrued where necessary.
(4) Financial Compliance: Assist in the preparation of documents for external audits and regulatory filings to Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
(5) Reporting and Analysis: Develop and implement Monthly Work Plans necessary for executing the above duties and responsibilities and Performance Reports detailing sales performance, market trends, and competitor activities.
(6) Administration and Management: Supervision and overall management of the Strategy and Planning Unit and its activities, providing technical guidance, project management and leadership and performance monitoring.
(7) Skilling and Capacity Development: Lead, mentor, develop, coach, train and appraise subordinates and peers to help them be successful in their roles and to progress in their skills and abilities.
(8) Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
(1) Bachelor’s Degree (Honors) in Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, Business Studies, Accounting, Statistics, Engineering, or related field from a recognized Institution.
(2) Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management or Related Field from a recognized institution; and
(3) Membership to the CFA Institute.
Minimum Experience
The applicant should have General Working Experience of at least Five (5) years. The applicant should have served a financial analyst or related field in a reputable organization for at least Three (3) years.
