Job Description

Providing reliable and safe driving services, you will uphold the highest standards of discretion and integrity; have a deep sense of responsibility, and excellent knowledge of protocol and security issues. You will demonstrate a client-oriented approach, courtesy, tact and ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

You would be responsible for:
• Driving office vehicles and transporting UNFPA staff and official visitors in town and on field missions, with particular focus on the Representative.
• Ensuring day-to-day maintenance of assigned vehicle.
• Performing minor repairs and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean and in good running condition at all times.
• Logging official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption and oil changes, greasing etc.
• Collecting and delivering mail, packages and equipment.
• Ensuring that, in the event of an accident involving the office vehicle, the necessary steps required by rules and regulations are followed.
• Performs other support duties as required

Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
Completed Secondary Level Education.

Knowledge and Experience:
• Valid driver’s license.
• Three years’ work experience as a driver in an international organization, embassy or UN system with a safe driving record.
• Knowledge of driving rules and regulations, chauffeur protocol and courtesies, and local roads and conditions, and defensive driving skills.
• Skill in minor vehicle repairs.

Languages:
Fluency in English; knowledge of other official UN languages, preferably French is desirable
