Job Description
The Assistant Venn Officer for Data Collection & Integrity (DCI) plays a critical role in strengthening RTV’s data foundation by ensuring high-quality data collection processes. This position involves:
- Supervising day-to-day data collection activities.
- Driving technological innovation to optimize data collection.
- Promoting best practices across all data-related initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Data Quality Assurance and Improvement
- Refine and enhance data collection instruments.
- Conduct pre-rollout testing of data collection tools.
- Monitor field activities to ensure data integrity.
- Advocate for best practices in data collection.
Technical Support for Field Teams
- Train field enumerators for data collection activities.
- Provide technical assistance and troubleshoot issues related to data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO, ODK).
Project Resource Planning and Optimization

- Assist in developing survey resource plans.
- Manage work plans for enumerator allocation and survey timelines.
- Optimize resource allocation for third-party contractors.
- Oversee inventory management at the unit level.
Technological Innovation and Implementation
- Leverage technology to improve data collection processes.
- Contribute to innovating data collection techniques.
- Support the implementation of new technological solutions.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Monitoring & Evaluation, or related fields.
- Experience:Â 2+ years in monitoring and evaluation, preferably in development or non-profit sectors.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in mobile data collection platforms (e.g., SurveyCTO, CommCare, ODK).
- Strong analytical skills with statistical packages (Stata, SPSS) and spreadsheets.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
