Job Description

Purpose of the role

Working closely with the Project Manager, the Admin/Finance Officer will oversee the administrative management of the project implemented, ensuring compliance with administrative and procurement procedures, preparing financial reporting, and supervising the management and maintenance of accounts by local accountants.

The project aims at promoting equitable and universal access to essential health services for maternal, neonatal, child and cancer care, strengthening the continuity of care and the overall improvement of the quality of care in the 4 target districts.

Key duties

  • Overseeing accounting and keeping the project accounts up to date
  • Monitoring project expenditures and assisting the Project Manager in budgeting and drafting periodic financial reports
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement procedures
  • Ensuring that purchases are supported by the correct documentation
  • Managing cash and bank accounts dedicated to the project
  • Supervising administrative and logistical national staff
  • Supporting the Project Manager in preparing quarterly funding requests
  • Guaranteeing that project activities are properly documented
  • Supporting the Project Manager in the administrative management of national staff and their contracts

Requirements

Requirements

  • University degree in Economics,
    • Finance or equivalent title
    • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English
    • Good knowledge of written and spoken Italian
    • Mastery in using accounting applications
    • Good knowledge and experience with AICS procedures and financial reporting rules
    • Previous professional experience in admin/finance management of international cooperation projects in fragile countries and/or low-resources settings
    • Good interpersonal skills and adaptability
