Inside Golden Insights : Wisdom as personal order

“Because God does not want us to be in disorder but in harmony and peace as in all the churches of God’s people.” 1 Corinthians 14 v 33 (GNV)

God is a God of order. He hates disorder, for He knows in it there is neither glory nor progress. He has a systematic way of doing things. He has a plan for everything, including you. In the creation story in Genesis, if you pay close attention, you see some high level of order, and there was a logical sequence followed. Everything was created on the right day. The sun was before plants and plants were before animals, then people. After each day, God reviewed His work. God’s doing was not chaotic in any sense.

Noah was given specific dimensions of the ark he was to build. Moses’ tabernacle had exact specifications given by God.The vision of dry bones Ezekiel saw showed an orderly restoration. These are only a few examples that show that God is systematic and very organised.

God made us in His likeness. He expects us to be creative people exhibiting high levels of order, just like Him. What is disturbing is the lack of order in some Christians’ lives. Without this order, it seems as if Satan is powerful and God’s Word is ineffective. A saint must live a highly organised life, and this is one of the most visible proofs of active wisdom in a human life. On the other hand, there is some disorder that manifests foolishness.

A whole king needed to be told by a prophet to put his house in order. Today l am exhorting you as well, put your life in order.

In seeking knowledge, you are seeking to know the order, which leads you to a desired outcome. It takes careful attention and much effort to access this precious order.

Firstly, one must appreciate that in the order of God, it starts with personal responsibility for outcomes. Each desired outcome largely comes from the efforts of an individual. Even at the end of life, each person shall be rewarded according to the work of his hands, not collectively. To go far in life, take personal responsibility for any outcome in your life.

Many saints pray to live a long life. This is good and very biblical. For this to become a reality, there is a need for a human contribution. If you are praying to live for 100 years, what are you doing in preparation for the possible last 30 years of little strength where you can’t be employed in any other person’s corporation? Do you respect your parents to live a long life? Are you living a healthy life – eating right, sleeping well, watching your weight, brushing your teeth, etc. In the order of long life, there is a demand of doing certain things. Are you knowledgeable of them and implementing them.

For the sake of personal order as a Christian, hear me, it is not evil for you to have medical insurance and funeral cover for your family. What is unwise is for you to be phoning every relative looking for money to send your child to a medical doctor.

Put your life in order; you want five kids. How are you planning to feed, educate, and house them?
How much time investment you are planning to give them? Is it wise to have a kid after understanding the implications on your retirement plan?

It is good that you dream of having great wealth. What business skills are you developing? In saying wealth, how much are you talking about? Which goods or services do you intend to provide in return for money? What milestones are you going to use to periodically measure your progress as the years progress? At the rate your current business is growing, it will take how long for you to reach your wealth goals?

Be sober and examine yourself if your thinking patterns, plans, actions, and pace are consistent with your aspirations. Intentionally act to bring and maintain order in your life. Like King Solomon, let those who dine with you see order in your household and discern your wisdom.
