1Cor.9.16 For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid upon me; yea, woe is unto me, if I preach not the gospel!
Soul winning is preaching the word of God, giving someone an opportunity to give their lives to Christ and save them from going to hell. Through this, the person can become a child of God and enjoy His goodness and inheritance, even while on earth. It is rescuing the perishing and saving the dying. Every believer must be a soul winner, establishing souls in the church and serving to build the house of God. Christ’s message is one of empowerment that brings meaning, hope, purpose, and dignity.
2Cor5v18 But all things are from God, Who through Jesus Christ reconciled us to Himself [received us into favor, brought us into harmony with Himself] and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation [that by word and deed we might aim to bring others into harmony with Him]. (AMP)
It’s important for every believer to know that we are ministers of reconciliation. Christ made the ultimate sacrifice by laying down His life so that man could be reconciled to God. Christ, who knew no sin, became sin and nailed it to the cross so that our sins would no longer be held against us. Ambassadors are sent to a nation to represent the nation from which they were sent. As citizens of the Kingdom of heaven, we are expected to follow Christ’s example, represent God on earth, and reconcile others with Him.
Souls are extremely precious to God. That person you hate so much and wishing if he be dead is very precious in the eyes of God. Matthew v 26 – For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? When there is a plane crash, we often hear announcements concerning the number of those who died and were injured rather than the value of the plane or the value of the building into which it may have crashed.This is because one soul is more valuable than the whole world. Soul winning is the most precious thing in life. As we win souls, we are giving them a great blessing. God has entrusted someone’s eternal destiny to us, we cannot sit on it.
On being saved, our hearts are stirred up for others. God’s children are precious to Him, and He has entrusted us to bring them back to Him. If you claim to be a Christian and you are not interested in soul winning at all, consider why not. Why must someone not enjoy what you are enjoying now? Necessity must be placed upon our hearts to go and win souls. Matthew 9v 36-38 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd. 37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth laborers into his harvest.
If a person gains everything but loses their soul, it is of no profit. The work of the church is to save the lost; rise to the challenge, go out, and win souls!
