Inside Golden Insights: Soul Winning Qualities

Proverbs11v30 The fruit of the [uncompromisingly] righteous is a tree of life, and he who is wise captures human lives [for God, as a fisher of men – he gathers and receives them for eternity]. (AMP)

The Kingdom of God is set up in such a way that we can not boast in our own strength, merit, or education. Like salvation, soul winning is dependent on God. We are His Messengers. He does the saving. A degree does not qualify you to be a soulwinner, and neither does lack of education disqualify you to win souls. The only qualification you need is your salvation. If two people come to you selling their product and the other one tells you of their experience using the product, you are most likely to listen to him than the other. That’s the same with the gospel. We are preaching Christ, we know.

A soul winner must be holy. As we Christians, we must live for God and prioritize personal purity. We must live what we preach. There is nothing wrong in saying “Do as I do” as long you are living a Holy life. Brother Paul says, “….immitate me as I imitate Christ.” Holiness is the character of Christ that’s in you. You can not take people to where you have never been.

Soul winners are spiritual people. In order to give a life, you must be alive yourself. Jesus said in John7v38, “He that believeth on me‐, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” “39 But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)” I doubt any of you would want to be a dead minister. God can not perform wonders with lifeless instruments; He needs living men, all alive. Whenever i am in the presence of Soul winning qualities

God can not perform wonders with lifeless instruments; He needs living men, all alive. Whenever I am in the presence of men used by God, I can sense it. You can’t meet them without sensing the spiritual vitality in them. Not just when they discuss the bible, but even in everyday life, you sense that there is something about the men that tells you they are alive to God.

Soul winners must be humble. During my tertiary days, we almost lost a venue for a gospel outreach just because I failed to be humble. When I approached the man and he said it wasn’t possible, I left him and approached someone who gave us permission in his village. When the village head knew of it, he simply said that wasn’t possible because he had denied it in the first place. I had to go back to him again, this time with humbleness and permission was granted. I remember that outreach we had a great harvest of souls. When it comes to winning souls, humility makes you feel you are nothing and nobody. You feel compelled to give God all the praise since none of it is yours. You will blame your own foolishness and weakness, not God’s sovereignty if you fail. Why should God bless you and then let you take the glory? The honor of saving souls belongs to Him alone.

Soul winners must be men and women of faith. Scripture says that without faith, it is impossible to please God. You must believe without question that you are really chosen of God to be ministers of the gospel of Christ. If you firmly believe that God has called you to preach the gospel, you will preach it with courage and confidence, and you feel you are going to your work because you have a right to do it. The Lord Jesus Christ could not accomplish many tremendous works in His own country because of the people’s unbelief, and God can not do many powerful works with certain men because of their unbelief. If you don’t believe, you won’t be used by God.
