Inside Golden Insights: Effective Soul Winning

1 Timothy 2v3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
4 – Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (MSB)

God’s greatest desire is for all people to be saved. These are the divine truths, and you can always wonder where the fire, hell, death, back to sender, and the witch must die sermons preached are coming from. I have seen people becoming killers of men rather than being fishers of men. Winning souls is the greatest job on this earth. After you have been saved, it’s important to tell someone about it. God’s instruction is to go and make disciples not kill them. I have even heard one popular preacher saying we are licensed to kill. My question is by who, when, and where? Families and friendships have been destroyed because of such kind of messages. We must preach the gospel. Today, I will focus on how to be an effective soul winner, but first, let me break the word GOSPEL as elaborated by someone else:

Go into all the world,
Obedience is required,
Salvation is provided,
Preaching is commanded,
Eternal life is guaranteed,
Love has provided it.

1. Live a consistent life.
If you are to be effective in soul winning, you must live a consistent life. How do people in your community know you? You can not be a wolf in the community and a sheep at church. That’s not possible. Matthew 5v14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. 15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. 16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. We must love when others hate. When others are panicking, we remain trusting in God. We must have a growing, maturing Christian life that others must respect.

2. Have a burden and vision for soul winning.
The great Apostle Paul’s burden for soul winning is a great lesson for us. Many preachers today when they visit foreign countries, their main attraction will be tourism. When Paul was in Athens, his hunger and burden was to win souls. Acts17v16 Now while Paul waited for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred in him, when he saw the city wholly given to idolatry. A burden is developed by seeing the eternal needs of the people. When Jesus saw people, He did not see them as a crowd. He saw them as individuals, and He was moved with compassion for their spiritual needs. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:36–38. See people with the eyes of Jesus, and His burden will be your burden.

3. Schedule your time to win souls.
What gets scheduled gets done. What doesn’t get scheduled often doesn’t get done. Regularly set aside time to go into your community to give the Gospel to others. Never be too busy for Jesus. If ever we want to see souls coming to Christ, we must have the hunger and fervency on soul winning as our daily and regular routine. It’s not something that we must do in our spare time, no. John 9v4 reminds us to work whilst it’s day because the night is coming where no one can work. Ephesians 5v17 Don’t act thoughtlessly, but try to understand what the Lord wants you to do. (NLT). Soul winning must be a priority in our daily schedules.
