About Company
Artolution is a global non-profit organization that seeks to strengthen communities experiencing crisis through collaborative art-making.
We identify, train, and support teams of local teaching artists to facilitate collaborative, educational arts programming in crisis-affected communities, providing a sustainable and long-lasting social impact on the next generation of citizens.
For over 10 years, Artolution programs invite diverse communities to create works of art, rooted in the traditions of mural-making, during times of conflict and social turmoil to address the challenges they face together.
Participants of the program experience collaborative mural-making, community performance, and creative extension programs that include recycled percussive sculptures known as Foundstrument Soundstruments, Virtual Bridges, dance, theatre, mindfulness practices, and more.
Each program varies depending on the location, traditions, and availability of resources. Our local artists become leaders and guides in transforming public spaces, their individual lives, and the lives of those in their community.
Our active year-round programs are located in Azraq Refugee Camp in Jordan, Bidi Bidi Refugee Settlement in Uganda, Rohingya Refugee Camps in Bangladesh, and multiple vulnerable communities in Colombia. Artolution is based out of New York in the United States and has facilitated more than 400 projects in 30 countries globally, since 2009.
