The programme addresses capture fisheries which depends on wild fish stocks and aquaculture which is the production of aquatic organisms under controlled conditions. The overall objective of the programme is to produce well trained and skilled persons understanding the dynamics of aquatic ecosystems.
The Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) indicates the 2-year upper secondary school which is also called the HSC (meaning High School Certificate). It is comparable to GCE A-Level in the UK. UACE is also known colloquially as "A-Level". The examinations for the UACE are administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board.
The Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) indicates completion of four year lower secondary school. It is comparable to GCE O-Level in the UK. The UCE examinations are administered by the Uganda National Examinations Board.
Work & Experience
• Oversee adherence to the Labour Management Plan (LMP) and national labour regulations for CPP’s Subcontractors (S/CTR) at site PS1. Supervising the S/CTR HR department ensuring 100% compliance with the LMP. • Induction and refresher trainings of CPP and S/CTR workers through the HRIR procedures i.e. onboarding training, Code of Conduct, financial management, worker rights, diversity and inclusion training, capacity building programs, and awareness campaigns. • Lead local hiring by prioritizing Ugandan candidates (National Content) for unskilled and semiskilled positions. Worked strongly with the S/CTR management to make sure that the recruitment procedures put in place by EACOP are followed. • Implement and manage Worker Committees, Grievance Redress Committees, Camp Committees to address employee concerns and grievances, maintaining a peaceful workplace. • Conduct thorough biweekly employee performance assessments for all CPP workers at Site, and followed and guided the S/CTR HR to ensure that all other workers are evaluated at least monthly. • Organise and maintain meticulous HRIR documentation of Disciplinary matters, Biweekly evaluations, Leaves, Timesheets and Payslips, contracts, Workers’ committee meetings, Trainings, Grievances and any Labour disputes ensuring legal compliance and readiness for audits by EACOP. • Utilize HR management software and online tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency in biweekly evaluations, leave application, weekly online meetings, salary adjustments, daily and monthly reporting, updating different IR trackers. • Actively engagement with local leaders to promote transparency and inclusivity in recruitment, settlement of labour disputes and disciplinary matters for the project affect communities. • Foster a positive workplace culture by prioritizing employee well-being and satisfaction through regular workers’ camp inspections and making adjustments where needed, etc.
