Work & Experience
In this role I am responsible for providing Health care to clients remotely using digital channels. Here is the summary of roles and responsibilities: Conducting Tele-consultations with patients and completing Electronic Medical Reports for clients. Referring clients who cannot be managed remotely to physical health units for advanced medical care. Participating in all scheduled health camps in which I was actively involved in client consultations, medical assessment, offering health talks, prescribing, and referring where necessary. Carrying out follow up for clients to assess prognosis and scheduling follow-ups. Implementing partner projects funded by USAID and MoH, particularly Socio-Behavioural Change Activity (SBCA) and Rhites-N Lango projects, basically on thematic areas of Sexual & reproductive health, Family Planning, HIV and HIV; PrEP, PEP, Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision, malaria and Covid 19, among other. This is done through Toll-free public helplines and SMS platforms. Carrying out Radio Talk shows on specific health care topics for example participated in a Topic on Pre-Eclampsia and Health wellness checks and their importance aired on Radio one FM90 on September 3rd 2022. Participating in Continuous Medical Education (CME) sessions as allocated and scheduled by the clinical Department manager. Preparing Health content and health- related reports, activity reports as required by the Clinical Department manager and occasionally by Client engagement Officer
In this role, I was responsible for providing technical support to the project on health programming in the following roles Identifying, assessing and providing medical and psychosocial support including referral of all beneficiaries to appropriate care. Collecting, tabulating and presenting on a regular basis field data on project activities carried out. Participating in budgeting, performance monitoring and evaluation meetings with stakeholders. Participating in Local Resources Mobilization activities to raise resources for the project on top of what is provided by Compassion International. Conducting other assessments using participatory approaches for all beneficiaries to determine the relevance and impacts of the project. Regularly visits all the beneficiary homes to check on the progress, offer support in line with the project objectives. Planning, and coordinating health-related training; information, education and Communication (IEC) for staff, caregivers, and sponsored children. Initiating generation of annual and monthly health work plans, budgets and coordinating implementation with emphasis on prevention of communicable diseases among the beneficiaries, caregivers, and the communities they live in. Preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Supporting the project in the development and implementation of health standards with emphasis on Continuous Quality Improvement, and Offering health education talks relating to disease prevention and health services-seeking behaviours. Ensured advocacy for children living with HIV/AID and their families and offering monthly support in form of Nutritional supplementation, supporting them to treat opportunistic infection, and offering psychosocial support and Spearheading child protection issues Some of the key achievements in this position is that I Conducted training on WASH and prevention of malaria to the sponsored children and their caregivers that saw a reduction in the number of infections.
In this role, I was responsible for the following roles and responsibilities: Counseled patients and relatives with medical and social needs, Offered psycho-social support to patients, and Liaised with other providers for linkage of patients to relevant points of care. Participated in assessment of patients, diagnosing and prescribing treatment and/or referring complicated cases in line with clinical guidelines and determining who should be discharged; supervising other health workers in routine medical services provision. Particularly, through monitoring and evaluating different activities within the Medical Centre, I formulated and guided usage of staff duty rotas. I achieved a 50% increase in the performance of staff through training and motivation. Facilitated monitoring of the quality of clinical services, and prepared accountabilities for used resources. Provided health education and counseling for relapse prevention, social issues, and mental health problems. Ensured infection prevention and control measures are in place all the time and in all departments, in line with National and Universal standards and monitored their implementation. Monitored and controlled usage of medicines and other medical supplies, made requests for restocking. I Initiated, and coordinated Continuous Medical Education (CMEs) for staff, and other review meetings in order to optimize the quality of healthcare; Prepared monthly, and annual reports and carried out health education talks to clients. Conducted minor surgeries like Safe Male Circumcision, I & D among others.
In this role, I was offered support to the team in offering Safe Male Medical Circumcision aimed at prevention of HIV. Here is the summary of roles and responsibilities: Involved in mobilizing, organizing for outreaches, carrying out circumcision procedures on males 10 years and above. Ensured to take client medical histories, Vital Observations and Examinations and to assess eligibility to undergo Safe Male Circumcision. Prescribed and dispensed treatment to those found with medical illness like Genital Infections Recorded all patient information on the patient SMC client form, register and card including information on schedules reviews. Took part in administering Tetanus Toxoid to clients who underwent circumcision procedure. Participated in follow up of clients following circumcision procedures and managing Advance Events of Circumcision and reporting Complicated AEs in accordance to the site SOPs. Participated in pre and post-HIV/AIDS counseling and HIV testing before SMC surgical procedure. Worked safely to ensure personal and team safety and health through implementing infection control and prevention measures. Participated in SMC activity targets evaluation meetings with the Site Team Leader to ensure set targets were achieved, and set action plans.
