Work & Experience
I provided overall leadership for the implementation of the road map of the safeguarding minimum standards for IRC Uganda Country program. My role was to ensure that Uganda country program met the eight safeguarding minimum standards in the IRC Global minimum standards through developing a road map and actions for implementation. Each standard had an owner, this meant that I had to work with each owner to agree on actions and how the implementation would be done. The actions were reviewed quarterly to identify emerging trends and course of action.
I provided leadership and oversaw the implementation of Women Protection and Empowerment department that implements Gender Based Violence (GBV) programs in five locations in Uganda these included Kyaka II refugee settlement, Bidibidi Refugee settlement, Imvepi Refugee settlement, Lamwo refugee settlement, Kampala urban refugee program and Karamoja
As the National training Officer, I was In-charge of trainings for staff in 13 departments in two central ministries that is Ministry Of Education and Sports and Ministry of Water and Environment. The main objective of the trainings was to improve service delivery in the two ministries
I provided strategic leadership and overall management to the YES program. As a result, economic opportunities were created for 327 youth, 40 youth led VSLAs were formed and youth were also successfully linked to private sector companies including Centenary Bank, SWIFIN, East Africa Seeds, Elite solar, Recycling Industries for trainings, products for sale, inputs and employment.
I provided overall leadership to the implementation of the LEAP project in Kitgum and Lamwo a child protection project with an education initiative to end child labor. My leadership efforts led to the withdrawal and placement of 3000 children into 10 primary schools, 7 secondary schools and three vocational institutions and three apprenticeship centers.
