With over a decade of experience in strategic communications and policy advocacy, I specialise in driving impact at the intersection of renewable energy, agriculture, and international development. I have most recently led a multi-country campaign to accelerate clean energy solutions for agricultural productivity across Uganda, Ethiopia, and India.
Previously, I have supported USAID, ILRI, and Chemonics International in shaping narratives, engaging stakeholders, and crafting knowledge products that amplify the reach and effectiveness of development initiatives. My expertise spans campaign strategy, stakeholder engagement, media relations, and knowledge management, underpinned by a strong foundation in journalism and public administration.

Climate change poses significant risks to sustainable agriculture, human health, biodiversity, and social justice. The Powering Agriculture campaign aims to address these challenges by mainstreaming DRE solutions in the agriculture sector. By integrating DRE into agricultural policy, driving awareness, and creating demand for DRE products and services, the campaign strives to improve food security, create jobs, and reduce global greenhouse gas emissions. Key responsibilities: Assess the needs of the campaign in three focus countries (Uganda, Ethiopia & India), and develop a strategic plan of engagement with clear outcomes Identify key policy advocacy goals, and secure needed commitments from relevant agencies/institutions Lead national and sub-national partners, allies, and volunteers in meaningful actions that result in measurable change Identify and recruit campaign partners, as well as retain and engage existing partners Develop and maintain "Power Maps", an inventory system of institutions and influencers that identifies and prioritizes relevant decision-makers, institutions. Support national outreach to media to ensure dissemination of campaign messaging Work with the research team to develop and produce Powering Agriculture knowledge products Key Achievements: Initiated the first ever Productive Use fo Renewable Energy collaboration accelerator that for the first time convened stakeholders form the agriculture and energy sectors to craft solutions to the barriers to scaling PURE in Uganda's agriculture sector Developed an action plan for scaling PURE in Uganda. This was later adopted by GOGLA and USEA to develop the national roadmap for PURE in Uganda. Attracted funding to grow the campaign to two additional countries - India and Ethiopia. Appointed to several PURE sub committees and working groups for projects run by partners such as Beyond the Grid Foundation for Africa, GOGLA/USEA, National Renewable Energy Platform. Current co-chair of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Working Group on Empowering People and Communities
Key Responsibilities: Prepared the project's Strategic Communications Plan in consultation with partners in Government of Uganda and USAID Acted as key facilitator / moderator at stakeholder engagement events Worked with US Mission Communication team to ensure wider publicity of EEA activities Led the Strategic development and implementation of all EEA Communication activities Collaborated with other USAID Implementing Partners on joint campaigns Engaged the media, press and online communication channels including social media to ensure effective coverage and visibility of EEA activities Developed Information Education
Key responsibilities: Developed the information and communication pathways and methodologies for a variety of partners and stakeholders of the Uganda livestock value chain Wrote edited, formatted or produced communication and knowledge sharing products for different audiences (public, researchers, policy makers, media, etc). Ensured that all products of the project were captured described and published on ILRI-supported platforms. Facilitated communication and knowledge sharing among project staff and partners and the general public Consolidated lessons learnt and research outputs for sustainable value chain development by the ILRI-led livestock projects and processing of customerspecific knowledge materials
