Some of the roles and responsibilities being executed include. Took the lead in training the farmers to understand EUDR regulations in preparation for compliance through popularization and traceability systems like fair trade and rainforest alliance. Mobilized, formed and provided technical assistance to 24 village groups to increase productivity through better crop management practices, IPM, and soil health Conducting sessions on how to increase quality by harvesting red cherries. Provision of technical assistance on sustainable coffee production to maintain the water and the soil for continuous production of climate-smart agriculture techniques and integrating agroforestry into coffee farming. Took the lead in organizing and executing exchange, learning, and monitoring visits of different stakeholders in the project area of operation. Took lead in maintaining contact with the local government authorities and other NGOs to have them aware of our work and seek support from them where need be. Guided coffee farming groups to do coffee farming as a business through the formation of Business plans. Successfully developed 12 business plans which were operationalized. Conducting one baseline and midyear survey to monitor project progress. Compile and submit monthly and quarterly progressive reports. I have managed all the expenses made in the running of all project activities Financial management Devise cost-effective plans to enable effective project completion Risks management to avoid damages and delay in implementing decisions I monitor and supervise activities carried out by other employees
Some of the roles and responsibilities being executed include; • Developed 7 training materials for the different sessions and enhancing staff capacity on new developed manuals about maize value chain. • Mobilized 60 farmer groups in two sub-counties and sensitized farmers groups, producer organizations, and all actors in the value chain of maize and rice to operate under AVCP • Mapped 13 village agents, 123 farmer organizations new/old, and 30 value chain actors and created links along the value chain actors like input suppliers, financial institutions, exporters, millers, big traders, and creating linkages amongst the actors. • With support from the Project team and supervisor conducted farmer groups, producer organizations, and other value chain actor’s needs and market assessments to identify capacity gaps to be supported. • I identified, trained, back-stopped, mentored, and coached producer organizations, and VAs in implementing a Market systems development approach in line with planned value chain activities under the project. • Trained and Supported 60 farmer groups in Farming as a business, agronomy, post- harvest handling, value addition, and other cross-cutting issues like climate-smart agriculture, and gender. • Carried out capacity building of farmer groups and producer organizations on market quality demands and collective marketing.
Some of the roles and responsibilities being executed include; I managed and supervised all day to day activities within the company which included but were not limited to; mobilization of farmers, coffee bulking, coffee hulling, coffee roasting, grinding, packaging, production of coffee seedlings and marketing of all products. Mobilized, formed and provided technical assistance to 20 village groups in each sub county in Rakai district to increase coffee productivity through better crop management practices, IPM, and soil health Managed to set up 10 demo plots in each sub county for farmers to learn from Compile and submit monthly and quarterly progressive reports which included; financial reports, management reports and sourcing funds for the company through wring funding proposals to funding organizations. Processing legal documents for the company including; operational licenses, taxes, and registration. Took a lead in planning and cash flow management I also took a lead in setting up and implementation of strategic plans and decisions for the company
Some of the important roles and responsibilities which I executed include; Management of all day to day activities that take place at the farm which include financial reporting, selection of enterprises to be established at the farm ,recruitment of workers ,marketing of all produce at the farm and more other activities.
