Over the years, we have grown and changed.
One thing that has remained constant is our commitment to communities living in poverty in some of the world’s most remote places.
Our journey began in 1998 with a mission to bridge the world of business and the world of people in extreme poverty. Now, we touch the lives of more than 200,000 people living in poverty each year, as well as countless others throughout knowledge.
We’ve been bridging worlds and changing lives for more than 23 years, but our journey is still only just beginning.

When you donate to Adara, we make sure it has maximum impact on communities living in poverty. Thanks to the Adara businesses, 100% of your donation goes directly to our project work.
Our Model
The first part of the Adara Group is an international development organisation called Adara Development that has expertise in Maternal, Newborn and Child Health, and Remote Community Development. Adara Development has worked in Nepal and Uganda since 1998.
The second part of the Adara Group consists of two businesses, Adara Partners and Adara Advisors, which are ‘for purpose’ rather than for profit. Their sole objective is to fund Adara Development’s administration and emergency project costs. This allows 100% of donations received by Adara Development to go directly to project-related costs.
From Adara’s inception to end of 2023, the Adara businesses have donated more than AUD $25 million to Adara Development. In addition, our donors have contributed more than AUD $47 million.
Since 1998, we have touched the lives of more than 600,000 people living in poverty as well as countless others through their influence, networks and knowledge sharing.
Sustainability
Sustainability is an important part of our work. Our Sustainability Committee, Chaired by Storai Sadat, leads and coordinates our environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments.
This ensures our work has a positive impact on all our stakeholders, aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, and constantly strives to be best practice across all areas of sustainability.
