Amplify Girls

AMPLIFY Girls is a network of 40 community-driven organizations across five countries in East and Southern Africa. Our Mission is to amplify their voices, work, and impact as they build adolescent girls’ agency.

AMPLIFY Girls was imagined through a thought partnership by Komera and the Antelope Foundation about the importance of localized development and the urgent need to drive resources and power to community-driven organizations.

In January of 2018, Komera and Antelope convened 18 diverse CDOs – who implement a multitude of programmatic approaches to drive change in their communities. Although diverse in nature, they all shared a common purpose – to improve outcomes for adolescent girls. These organizations discussed the importance of community-driven planning and how working collaboratively could upend development narratives and provide an alternative to traditional scale. Our collective work culminated in the founding of AMPLIFY Girls.

MISSION
Our mission at AMPLIFY Girls is to amplify the voices, work, and impact of community-driven organizations (CDOs) in Africa committed to building adolescent girls’ agency.

VISION
We envision a world where agency and opportunity are granted to every girl and resources and respect are given to the community-driven organizations that support them.

We work towards this by supporting the growth of organizations through intentional collaboration and learning; advocating for the inclusion of community-driven organizations in global decision-making spaces; and developing cutting-edge research that enables us to understand, measure, and maximize girls’ agency.

OUR COMMUNITY
AMPLIFY Girls is a trust-based collective committed to collaborating to shift global resources to community-driven development. Our partners drive AMPLIFY Girls’ agenda through intentional collaboration and collective decision-making. All stakeholders contribute to the continued evolution of AMPLIFY Girls and benefit from the work we do collectively.
