Refactory is a pioneer training academy in Uganda, offering alternative industry-led skilling for the global technology industry. It is focused on equipping learners with skills to enable them to venture into a Tech career of choice.
Our Story
Refactory is a Company Limited by Guarantee that was formed by four partners; Laboremus Uganda Ltd, Fontes Foundation, Youth With A Mission UK, and Clarke International University. It has been supported by funding from the Norwegian Agency for International Development (NORAD) and other donors.
It is focused on equipping learners with skills to enable them get into gainful employemnt.
Approach to learning
Refactory was developed on a Social Enterprise model with the core purpose of human capital development. The primary focus of Refactory is to enable more young people get into employment, while intentionally increasing the number of women and other underserved populations in technology.
We match skill training with market demand by equipping trainees to become software craftsmen, able to design, implement, and manage complex real-world software projects; thereby bridging the technology-talent employability gap.
