About us
AGIAMONDO eV, until 2019 under the name “Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Entwicklungshilfe” (AGEH), is the personnel service of German Catholics for international cooperation.
We are one of nine institutions in Germany recognized by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) that send specialists under the Development Aid Act (EhfG).
Where this South-North personnel placement is already taking place, there is a triple benefit: with the German organisation, the specialist and with the organizations in the country of origin, which can integrate and use the know-how and contacts of the returnees. In this sense, AGIAMONDO also wants to establish a socio-ecological personnel service for Germany:
Experts and volunteers returning from abroad should extend their development service in Germany and contribute their experience to the work of German organizations.
In this way, newly gained knowledge and valuable insights, e.g. B. in the promotion of self-empowerment processes, fed into the necessary socio-ecological change in Germany and Europe. AGIAMONDO is also planning to get more involved in South-South personnel placements so that partner organizations can network better with each other and exchange their experience and know-how on a personal level.

We place qualified specialists in church and non-governmental development cooperation projects. In addition, in the Civil Peace Service we develop peacebuilding programs together with partner organizations in conflict countries. The fid department for international voluntary services advises supporting organizations on setting up and expanding their international voluntary services and represents them politically.

Our understanding of personal cooperation

From Development Service to World Service
Development cooperation is not a one-way street from north to south. Whether developing countries and emerging countries in the south or industrialized countries in the north: all countries are developing countries. That means we all have to develop. Because for the pressing problems of our world – poverty and hunger, injustice and violence, climate change and the destruction of our natural resources – we can only develop solutions together.
