Overview
Whilst we started operations from Nigeria in 2002 as a transaction switching and electronic payments processing company, our business has grown remarkably in size and geographical scope, enabling us to deliver innovative payment products and transactional services throughout the African continent.
Interswitch has demonstrated consistent, sustainable, and profitable growth since the business was founded, positioning the organization to expand into more sectors and markets than any other payments company in Africa.
Our foray into the East African region commenced with our entry into Uganda through Interswitch’s acquisition of Bankom Uganda in 2010. Since then, we have created new and locally relevant multi-channel digital transaction solutions that have revolutionized the delivery of financial services in Uganda today, including Quickteller, our flagship value added service platform; Paydirect, our robust multi-channel payment collection, lodgment and monitoring solution); Autopay, our proprietary payment disbursement solution; Retailpay (a payment solution that enables merchants manage cash and inventory); and our suite of Verve Card and Digital Payment Tokens.
We continue to drive the integration of our regional operations in East Africa, with a view towards breaking down transaction barriers and enabling more seamless exchange of value across the region, complemented by our growing business footprints in neighboring Kenya.
