Company History
HMH-Rainbow Ltd. is the parent company of the Yo Kuku! brand of chicken. It is a joint venture between Hudani Manji Holdings Ltd, a Ugandan-family owned business and RCL Foods Ltd, the largest producer and marketer of chicken in South Africa.
The integrated business consisting of a feed mill, broiler farms and a processing facility is nestled on 64 acres in a remote area of Semuto, about 50kms outside of Kampala City.
The decision to invest in the poultry industry was a result of three considerations:
The high demand for chicken in Uganda
The lack of a dominant integrated player in the sector
The lack of reliable supply chains
