Job Description
The resource will be responsible for managing the projects based at the Moroto office.
DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES:
Responsible for the implementation of ongoing project activities in Karamoja, producing reports in Italian and English, and, in coordination with the office administrator, developing monitoring tools including financial management and budget management.
Responsible for managing emergency cases handled by the Moroto office.
Receives new project proposals from beneficiaries and partners and conducts preliminary analysis according to the criteria set by the country office and management.
Develops new intervention proposals in concert with the local staff, both for participation in internal calls and for applications to third-party donors for the approval of CR/Desk Italy.
Maintains relationships with partners and organizes periodic update meetings.
Plans and conducts monitoring visits to projects, collects data on project progress in accordance with developed monitoring tools, in collaboration with the administrative and monitoring officer.
Responsible for supervising the work and reporting of the Outreach Project Implementers.
In collaboration with the administrative department, prepares the monthly funding request.
Under the supervision of the CR and the administrative officer, implements work plans and ensures that each staff member meets their periodic objectives while ensuring project goals are achieved within the established timelines.
Maintains relationships and communications, serving as a representative with local institutions.
Together with the office administrator, ensures compliance with policies related to finance and human resources and adherence to ISP values.
Responsible for maintaining a constant communication channel with the Country Representative regarding the management and implementation of projects.
Ensures, along with the administrator, the security and protection of the organization’s property in Moroto.
Identifies local funding opportunities and calls for proposals.
Responsible for drafting the annual report for the Moroto office, periodically analyzing the performance of the office activities, and conducting staff evaluations together with the administrator.
Organizes monthly monitoring visits for the CR and the Country Administrator.
Organizes visits for donors, volunteers, and general visitors to the Moroto office.
Responsible for managing the work plans of volunteers.
Plans capacity-building sessions for staff where necessary.
KNOWLEDGE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Professional experience: at least 3 years of significant experience in international cooperation and/or humanitarian aid projects in responsible roles within relevant fields. Previous experience in Sub-Saharan Africa is essential; direct knowledge of Uganda and Karamoja is preferred.
Education and training: Degree and/or Master’s in Development Cooperation, Economics, International Relations, Political Science, or related fields.
Excellent written and spoken English, excellent knowledge of the Italian language.
Independence in managing administrative software, office applications, and online communication tools.
Demonstrable knowledge of PCM (Project Cycle Management).
