1 Peter 2:24
” Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
That verse declares that Jesus Christ took away our sins as well as our sicknesses. If anything in this verse is not true, then we should never waste our time in anything to do with Jesus. Jesus is not going to die for our sins again, if you were to sin today, you don’t really have to ask God to forgive you, you instead are to receive forgiveness of sins because Jesus Christ made that available before you were born. In the same manner, if you were to find yourself sick, you don’t have to ask God to heal you. You are to receive healing, which Christ purchased for you 2000 years ago. Both salvation for the soul and healing for the body are important to God. God doesn’t want us to sin in the same way He doesn’t want us sick and defeated. Some people are not confident of this bible truth because they have no basis of faith.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 says, ” What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.” This is the major reason God wants your body healed. It’s his property. He doesn’t want his property torn down by cancer or diabetes. He doesn’t want asthma, HIV or any kind of affliction on his property. God wants your eyes well. He wants your teeth and everything about you well. You should be convinced of God’s will about your health before steadfast faith can be achieved. The bible truths don’t work automatically, they only work when believed and acted upon. God has made you a caretaker of the body you have. You are spirit and are given control over that body. You are to keep it well through the word, God is committed because it’s his property.
You have to think and talk this way, ” My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. No devil can fasten itself to it.” Faith means you are confident. ” I cannot die in an accident, I cannot be defeated , I can’t be sick, I can’t be oppressed, I can’t be a victim, I cannot be poor”. It doesn’t matter what comes my way. I am a victor. I have divine energy working in me. I am anointed. Think and talk this way about yourself.
